My name is Drew Hall, together with my brother Christian (Drug Dog) and long-time friend Taylor Sullivan (Rules of Engagement, Father Jumangi), we create psychedelic infused jazz rock. I am the writer, shredder and singer. Christ is the bass thumper and Taylor is the hardcore drum killer.
We have recorded 4 new singles at an analog studio here in Nashville, with the help of Taylor Bray as recording engineer, and Duncan Ferguson as mastering engineer (a couple of geniuses). They will be released in the coming months, so keep your ear out! These songs are the definitive sound of Plaid Forest: they will take you on a journey and drop you off somewhere in space, then you will look around and say "give me more!". You can find the first single, Stolen here on our website. It's a "steal" at a dollar, but you CAN pay more and we will be forever grateful.
My brother Christian and I have been making music together for over 20 years (whoa). We started by covering some of our idols like Weezer and the Black Keys (check out our Youtube). As our taste developed through discovery of artists like Funkadelic, Mogwai, Jeff Beck, RJD2, Phish, Umphrey's Mcgee, Wes Montgomery, and a million more, we began writing our own tunes. Thus, Plaid Forest came to be. It's what I call Jazz Rock. It's rock with a jazzy twist, giving it an edge of smoothness over straight rock. It is also infused with soul-tapping lyrics and vocals, unforgettable rhythms and tasty bass lines.
We will be booking single release shows in and around Nashville very soon, so keep an eye on our calendar or get on our email list. If you come see us live, you'll be taken on a musical ride that you may never forget!
